to know (nonfiction), and books that

tell made-up stories (fiction).

|

The library has books on CD and

tape that you can listen to.

The library has magazines

like Spiderman, Sports Illustrated for Kids,

|
Highlights, and Nick.

|
The library has computers you can use
|
|
to study, do reports, or play games.
|

You will have to get mom or dad

|
to check out a movie for you.

How to find stuff
|
|
|
|
You can use the online library catalog
|
|
on the library Website.
|
|
|
|
Click on "Catalog"
|
|
Click on the arrow next to "Library."
|
|
change it to "Lake Park Library."
|
|
Type in the name of the book in the
|
|
box and click on "Search."
|
|
|
|
A list of books will come up.
|
|
Look to see WHERE your book is.
|
|
|
|
If there is an "F" in front of the
|
|
author's name, the book is
|
|
fiction (made-up stories). You can find
|
|
it by looking for the author's name
|
|
on the shelves in the fiction section.
|
|
|
|
If there is s number in front of the
|
|
author's last name, the book is non-fiction
|
|
(about things that are real).
|
|
Look for the number on the
|
|
Non-fiction shelves.
|
|
|
|
How to borrow stuff
|
|
|
|
You can borrow stuff FREE
|
|
at the library.
|
|
All you need is a Lake Park Library card,
|
|
which you can get FREE!!
|
|
|
|
If you are a kid (under 16),
|
|
you need to get a parent to come in
|
|
with you and sign you up. Your parent will
|
|
need to bring ID with your address on it.
|
|
|
|
How long can you keep stuff out?
|
|
|
|
You can keep books out for 2 weeks,
|
|
CD's and tapes for 1 week.
|
|
|
|
What if you lose your card?
|
|
|
|
If you lose your card, you will have to pay
|
|
$1.00 to get another one, so be careful with it!
